Congratulations Sherril Britt!

35th Carolinas Mid-Amateur Championship held on North Ridge Country Club's Lakes course in Raleigh, N.C. on Sunday, April 19, 2015 

Sherrill Britt held off the competition to capture his first CGA championship title.  Sherrill Britt has been a Member of the Pine Needles Club since 2013. Britt assembled a three-day total of nine-under-par 207 (66-67-74) to win by one. 

Britt will leave Tuesday to play in the  U.S. Four-Ball at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, California.

Britt grew up in North Carolina and has always enjoyed playing at both Pine Needles and Mid Pines.

Member Spotlight - Jerry & George

Carolina Golf Association 
Super Senior Fourball Tournament

Jerry Grout and George Wirtz won the CGA Super Senior Tournament held at Seven Lakes Golf Course on March 10th. 

Their winning score was 76, 5 under par and they won by 3 strokes!

This is a photo of the medal they won.

George contributed 5 birdies and Jerry contributed 3 more. 

By winning this tournament, they are qualified to play in the year ending Tournament Championships wich will be held December 1st and 2nd right here at Pine Needles-Mid Pines!

This is a very exciting time for our fellow members and for the Club. We congratulate Jerry and George on this accomplishment and look foward to cheering them on this upcoming December. 

Carolina Golf Association Championships

CGA Interclub Championship

We would like to see who would be interested in joining the Pine Needles Club - CGA Interclub Championship that runs from April - October. This annual event is a team competition between CGA member Clubs that use Singles and Four-ball match play format. Points are awarded for each match and the team earning the most points is the match winner. Clubs will play 3 home matches and 3 away matches for their qualifying.

The Criteria for the team is below:

Males Members in good standing
Must be an amateur
Have a current club GHIN Handicap of 18.4 or less
Minimum of 10 scores posted in past 12 months
18 years of age
Must not have played for another Club in the current year

If we are able to generate enough interest we will have a format meeting or signup for the team. We would need 12 players for each match to compete.

NOTE: If we qualify for the final matches we would have "Home Field" advantage as the finals will be held at Mid Pines!
