Local Spring Fest

Saturday, April 26

Don't forget this year's annual Springfest will be held
in downtown Southern Pines. Arts, crafts, games, rides,
food, entertainment, and much more! Spring fest will
host over 160 vendors from all around the country. Enjoy
stunning artwork, and crafts including paintings,
jewelry, metal art, photography, woodwork, designs from
nature, and other amazing creations. This event will be
held alongside the Tour de Moore, an annual youth
Bicycle race. Encourage children to bring their bike,
tricycle, big wheel, etc. for the big race. Children
10 and under may participate.

Summer Clinics

Pine Needles Club will host FREE Summer Clinics
from May -August. The First Summer Clinic will be
May 2nd From 4:30 - 5:30 pm on the main
practice tee at Pine Needles!

Director of Golf's Message

As spring keeps buzzing along, we are happy to
have had such good weather the first two weeks
of April. I know we all hope it continues
into May and the summer.

I would like to inform everyone of a change
we have made in our golf operation now that
Jon Cooley has resigned for his new position in
Wisconsin. I am pleased to announce that Brett
Harless will be assuming the duties of our
Senior Assistant Golf Professional at Mid Pines.
Brett started with us last May and has done a
great job during his time here with us. Brett
will be assisting me with the daily operation
of Mid Pines. Brad Davis and Chase Lippard will
be positioned primarily at Mid Pines, while Tyler
Yancey and Mandy Moore will be primarily positioned
at Pine Needles. We are currently seeking another
Assistant Golf Professional to join our team
and this process is underway.

I have spoken with many members regarding our
structure and what our plans are and this is just
one of the changes that we plan to make, with
other opportunities coming at a later date.

I would like to thank all our Golf Professionals
during this transition as well as all our members; as
we are striving to make your experience the best it
possibly can be. If anyone has any questions

U.S. Open Volunteers Needed!

COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS has been given an

opportunity to work a booth during BOTH the men’s
and the women's Opens! This is a great opportunity
to help the Communities In Schools organization to
continue to impact the lives of over 200 kids!

Director of Golf Message

It is with mixed emotions that I inform you that

Jon Cooley will be resigning from Pine Needles &
Mid Pines to accept the position of Head Golf
Professional at The River Club of Mequon.

We are deeply saddened to be losing Jon; however
this is a tremendous opportunity that he could not
pass up. Jon has been an outstanding associate not only
in the Golf Operation at both properties, but a great
 leader for our company since November 2012. Jon's last day
with us will be April 10th and we are currently looking
how to best restructure our Golf Operation. When
those details are final I will let everyone know.

Speaking on behalf of Mid Pines, Pine Needles
and the Bell family, we wish Jon the best of
luck with his new position.
